I wound up with a large lot of P2K GP Shells though a deal from HOInterchange. On top of my remaining messed up P2K GPs and GP projects that are in my parts box, I should have a fairly large build list.
I got the following shells from the deal:
6x GP20 HH, undec (bought to get the 4-step sills, some extra cabs, and noses)
3x GP18 DB, undec
2x GP7 Ph. II with DB, undec
1x GP9 Ph. III no DB, undec
Those shells don't have any detail parts. So I have a blank slate. I'll have to build the box on the enginer's side on the long hood from styrene as those are missing... I can get fans from Atlas or Cannon and glazing from AMB. Everything else is run-of the-mill stuff.
In my box and projects I have the following:
1x GP18, with DB. BN 1998 (I stuck the shell in a freezer, got moved into the ice machine and the sill and cab got tore up...
1x GP9 Ph. II, no DB, BN 1964 (When I was weathering it, the painGP18 w/ DB #1t started to turn white... Can't fix it, so I'll start it over)
1x GP7 Ph. II, no DB, undec (started converting the steps to the 5-step)
1x GP5 1365 (still in progress)
So with mixing the shells and parts I wind up with the following:
I still have an extra chop-nose cab, and may wind up with a second one because I may be able to repair one that broke...
Converting a GP7 Ph. II to a Ph. III would require removing most of the engine room brace leaving it level with the top of the engine compartment doors. Then taking the door immediately to the cab side of the engine compartment and removing it and making it level with the rest of the engine room doors... AFAIK, BN 1638-1643 were the only GP7s with Dynamics on the BN...
The project leaves over 6 GP20 long hoods, and a few GP18/GP9 ph. III sills... I may try to sell these off, or trade them. The GP7 Ph. IIs are also up for a trade. IDK if any cannon door would be the same as used on a GP7/9, and I'd probably go nuts having a Ph. II GP7 stand in for a Phase III...
As if I don't have enough projects already...

Start | Finished | Notes |
GP5 1365 | GP5 1365 | Sill from undec HH GP20 |
GP18 1994 | GP18 1994 | Don't like the early P2K numberboards. really just needs a new sill can cab. Sill from undec HH GP20 |
GP9 1964 | GP9 1964 | Have to add in steps to a GP9 sill because of the skirt. Both ends striped with lowered headlight. Ex-Q |
GP7 Ph.II w/o DB | ? | Probably an Ex-GN GP7... |
GP9 Ph.III w/o DB | ? | Sill from HH GP20. Haven't decided on a unit... |
GP18 w/ DB #1 | ? | Sill from HH GP20. Haven't decided on a unit, likely a GP9... |
GP18 w/ DB #2 | ? | Sill from HH GP20. Haven't decided on a unit, likely a GP9... |
GP18 w/ DB #3 | ? | Sill from HH GP20. Haven't decided on a unit, likely a GP9... |
GP7 Ph. II w/ DB #1 | ? | May try to convert it to to a PH. III GP7. Would then be good for BN 1638-1643 (ex-NP 564-569) |
