Hi guys, been gone from here for a while, and now starting to dabble in a bit of detailing again. Got my eye on this as a cheapie build, but haven't any experience of Walthers locos - is this worth having a go at? www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=592770252Cheers, Mike in Aotearoa

saw one of those locos running at my local model shop as he has a few , from my limmited experience they look ok , run quite well , the one i saw was a very nice runner on the straight test track sounding very quiet and smooth for a brand new unrun loco
for the price of them i'd be happy enough to give it a go !!

I used to have a pair, they run really well but the shells are nearly identical to the Athearn BB body, very wide, etc.. However, for the right price, and some details these can be decent models. I have seen a picture before of a WC unit someone detailed that turned out very nice.
I have considered picking up a couple for cheap detailing bases.

If you set this Santa Fe version, know that scheme was a fig newton of Walthers imagination. The only GPs Santa Fe ever painted silver/red were the GP60Ms.
