That does look good. I would think a airbrush on a high air setting could do the same also as a toothbrush.

That does look good. I would think a airbrush on a high air setting could do the same also as a toothbrush. You have the right idea but went the wrong way on the prressure! To get this I used an airbrush, my single action Paasche H. I started out bu gumming up the tip. I sprayed acrylics through it and let them dry on the tip. I did this a couple of times. Once the tip is gummed up, turn the pressure down, and fire away. I don't have a PSI gauge so I was just adjusting till I got the right texturing.

I misspoke, I should have said lower pressure. I've learned that high pressure lesson before!
Interesting concept to gunk up the tip. If you wanted to do this alot, you could probably take an old tip and mess that up, along with the cone opening.

Guys, for what it's worth, you could achieve the same effect by "bouncing" the paint from your airbrush off a piece of paper or cardboard.
Still, a very well done effect!

way cool Andrew! I don't think I would have know to use an airbrush to do that. I only know the brush trick. Looks very realistic.
