Details West:
Plow - 303 Train Line Hose - 302 MU Hoses (front) - 295 MU Hoses (rear) - 266
The reason I suggest a different one for front and rear is the 295 are long and will drap over the plow just fine. If you used 295 on the rear, they would hang to low and foil on switches and cross overs. The 266 are shorter and will drop down to abou tthe bottom edge of the pilot.
Detail Associates:
MU Stand - 1505 Ditch Lights - 1022
If you are going to use MV lenses for teh ditch lights, it is either LS24 or LS25. Can't remember. I think it is 24. I think the 25's I use for the DA visored head light. 24's also work for the Cannon 7 Co. long hood end light housings. I just remember that teh ditch lights and C&CO. parts use the same MV lense size.

Its a religion for me. A lot of people know all there is to know about the real locomotive. What type of motor it has, its history and builder number and all that. I am a junky for modeling. I do not know off the top of my head what the part number is, but I can look at a detail on a locomotive and know what manufacturer makes the part or if it is even available.
When I make my Bill of Materials, it starts with Cannon & Co. I pull up a photo of the model I want to build and also the Cannon & Co. web site. I will start with teh first item on the C&Co page and work my way down to the bottom of the list picking out the parts I want to use. Then I will go to the Walthers page and pull up the listings for Detail Associates. Looking over the prototype photo I know what DA makes and what I want to use. Then I go to teh Details West page and down load teh picture catalog. Again I do the same thing. Look over the prototype and pick off teh DW page what I want. Then I do the misc. stuff like BLMA grab irons, anyting I need from Plano or Cal Scale or NWSL and such until I have completed my BOM.

It just amazing how you guys are able to do that I went to details west and was looking at all the plows trying to find the right plow and just got so confused with all the different ones.

Thanks Brian for listing the part numbers you used on the GP 40-2! I am with the others who have asked how to know which parts to use. Learn something new every day I guess! LOL
Hey Uncle Jay; Thanks for adding Rail Graphics to my list of wish books!
This is a great thread and maybe it should be stickied.

Uncle Jay, probie Mike here, having trouble finding the Rail Graphics site you mention. I Googled it, and the home page I found has only decals. Where is the manufacturers section?
Thanks, Mike.

Thanks foreman railnet, I was looking at the wrong web site. I looked for Rail Graphics, not Highball Graphics. I've been to the Highball Graphics site before, and never got past checking out his 1/8 scale backyard train.
Thanks again! Mike.

Well not haveing any luck finding the ditch lights from Detail Associates 1022 I looked at Jim Abbott's (Highball) site and it doesn't currently list that he has any in stock. If you were to contact him, he can definately order them for you. I also have a set you can have if he can't get you one fast enough.
