I have two Kato SD70macs. I bought two DH165KO boards to replace the main board. My question is, how do I wire up the motor to the board? The copper sheets or whatever it was that connected to the old board is too short. I have old wiring from past digitrax installations to connect the motor, will that work? Plus according to the sheet of instructions I dont need resistors when I install LEDS, is that true also?
Is there a howto guide to modify the ditch light tubes to make them work separately?

You can wire the motor connections to the new decoder. Yes there are resistors installed for lighting LED's. If you are not doing sound, is there a reason you just didn't get the DH165IP 1.25 Amp HO Scale Mobile Decoder for the Kato EMD SD70MAC and other Locos available from Digitrax? On all my Locomotives that have light tubes, including the Kato's, I cut off the back of the light tubes where I have the red line. Then I drill a hole for an LED where I have the blue arrows, and wire the LED's from there. This way you get rid of the junk light tubes that are in the way anyhow. You can do the same for your ditchlight tubes I would think. Here is an example, The LED is mounted into a light tube on a Kato SD45. I usually cut my tubes a little closer to the front of the shell, but this shows the idea.

When I went to the digitrax site and put in HO, Kato, SD70, all that came up was the DH165K0 among other ones. Thats why I picked that board.
