For this one I am going back to Virgina. This time instead of Richmond we're heading southeast and the Tidewater area. The Norfolk,Carolina, And Danville was formed in the early 80s when the original Norfolk Southern and the Atlantic and Danville (No N&W Buy out) merged with the original Norfolk Southern instead. This railtroad turned into a powerhouse regional in the 80s and 90s thanks to its connections to Norfolk. Nowadays the railroad is a powerful class II that may become a minor Class I if it keeps up. The railroad is full of SD40-2's,SD60I's and even 10 AC44W's along with other modern equipment. The White, Black and Red paint job is very reminiscent of Lehigh Valleys Snowbird paint job. The red stripe on the bottom ties in to the railroads catchphrase "The Bloodline of the Mid-Atlantic"

How is the merger going to work? Will the Albemarle sound bridge still be in place? Will the line into Durham still be in place? What about the real original NS being merged into Southern in 1974?

So I've decided to add another wrinkle to the fold, In 1987 the NC&D gains trackage rights from Interchanges with the SCL in North Carolina and Virginia, to Richmond,VA and Acca Yard, this works so successfully for the line that they buyout the RF&P in 91 instead of CSX

here's a map. Might railroad is considering making an Intermodal Facility in Fayettville and running the entire thing over SCL/CSX & RF&P lines to Washington DC

Cool, that means I should be seeing these units run right next to my house rather than the Carolina Coast Railway (original NS line). Your paint scheme would look so much nicer anyway. Very sharp looking.
Just out of curiosity though. I have never seen an SD40-2 with full SP style light package as in your drawing. Is that something you added or did it come along with the download?

Looks good. I take it your going to abandon the line into Durham. You could also say the Durham and Southern was merged into your line instead of going to SCL.

I was just funnin with ya.
I would make one suggestion. Drop the NC&D from the nose and put chevrons on the nose and long hood end. Maybe red chevrons, maybe black. Or if you have a logo, that would be good too.

Maybe not chevrons but Burlington Northern style black slash stripes on the nose since the top is black and instead of the small red stripe, paint the bottom sill red and wrap it all the way around the pilots too. That will look very cool! I like your white & black shceme to start with

OK here is a different version I have come up with, the red in the middle can still be the bloodline of America if you want, let me know what you think and if you want any changes..
