Hello everyone, I'm a 51 year old kid living in Oregon and am interested in smaller railroads, but confess a love for the Union Pacific from my early years. I would like to model older units in more modern times, or stay with transition era modeling; some steam, some early diesel. I'm also a bit interested in a local line here in Oregon, the Willamette and Pacific, as it works daily where I live. Has anyone modeled their power or operations? I love their coloring, (when they actually paint a locomotive.) I'm also trying to learn something about steamers so I can detail correctly, but that's a different board! If anyone has worked on a Alco C420 lately, I'd be interested in learning about general detailing.

Thanks Peir. Some of the Alco postings are so nice; I've got alot to learn about detailing! I like the W & P paint scheme as well, but I like the older SD's better than the GP39's. I want to paint a Proto SD9 that I've got in the W&P scheme, unlike some that the W&P uses and haven't gotten around to painting.
Best regards, Brad
