The Cherokee Line aka The Upper Tennessee Railroad.
The Upper Tennessee Railroad (Or The Cherokee Line as it is also known) Is a class III railroad that connects New Market,TN and Frisco,TN. The line can trace its history back to the Jefferson and North Eastern (J&NE) the railroad started to struggle in the late 70s and early 80s before being bough by Ellias Railway Properties in 1987 and put a huge investment in the line. in 1990 a major boon to the railroad came in the form of Wal*Mart who built a distribution center in Rodgersville. This was followed by a Pilot Oil distribution also in Rodgersville. Another major customer is the East Tennessee Zinc Mine owned by Nystar, near the interchange in New Market. The Zinc is sent up to an Interchange with CSX in Frisco, and off to factories in the East.
The Nickname "The Cherokee Line" is due to the fact the railroad parallels Lake Cherokee.
Ellias Railroad Properties have several other railroads to
In Virginia they have three
Central Virginia and Blue Ridge - this is the former Virgnia Blue Ridge railroad
Deepwater Terminal - This is the Deepwater Terminal railroad that servers the Port of Richmond
Winfree, Lynette and Foyle - a short line in north central VA
In Tennesee there are two
the Upper Tennessee Railroad as mentoned above
The Tennessee River and Western - In Northwest Tennessee
There is one in Florida
The Pinellas Terminal Railway - A switching railroad that runs the old SCL lines in St Petersburg
and thats the back ground of my railroad

Sounds cool, the paint scheme is going to be a little hard to do with that stripe being so high up like that. There's a lot of details to get around there, would be easier to do the strip lower like below the number boards or even right below the radiator. And maybe add white stripes to the front and even rear. Just a thought.

Feel free to show me your Idea.

those colors look perfect! I realized that having a University of Alabama colored loco in Tennessee would be a bad idea So I am glad you came up with the paint job of Black and Orange.

I am glad you like it. I tried to keep it pretty simple, the stripes on the front and rear are available from Microscale and I guess you will have to have the others made. Well if you need anyother help feel free to ask and I cant wait to see a engine done..
