I recently acquired a used Athearn Genesis SD70ACe to turn into the Illinois Terminal Heritage unit. There are a few things that need to be changed in order to match the prototype. I will be filling in the low headlight and mounting a high headlight, modifying the AC unit, removing the dome antenna and replacing it with the long antenna cover, and hopefully she will be ready for paint. The victim Soaking in a bath of 91% alcohol All stripped and ready to be worked on I mixed the proper color needed and have some Microscale IT decals on the way along with all of the data for the SD70ACe.

Great start. The IT engine is one of my favorites. The green just pops against any other color.

I was a little intimidated once I opened up the box to see how nice looking the Athearn unit was. But I dove in head first anyway haha. I made a little progress today with the cab. I added the roof mounted headlight and started to fill in the nose headlight recess. I should make some good progress on it this week and hopefully can have it in paint this weekend.

Well its been a little while since I've had time to work on it so I don't have anything new to post yet. Have had a lot on my plate since I've started it. Things are finally slowing down for the moment until I start my new job so I'm going to try to get some work done on it.

Nice job so far, however being that I am a ERIE ,EL and NKP fan I lean towards the ERIE and D.L&W Heritage unit due to my late mother being from JAMESTOWN, NY and introducing me to the ERIE / EL..
