I actually did talk to him, he's still trying to figure things out and determine if its worth making more. He is fully aware of this message on the site.

Hi guys, I have to apologize for the lack of updates on this project. Real life has reared its ugly head, this time financially. I'm a college student, so I'm perpetually broke, and my associate Nathan is currently unemployed. I hate to do it, but we'll have to place this on hold until one of us finds a way to fund the project. Preorders are an option, but we would rather not do that on a first release. I will keep you updated as this eventually progresses. We WILL finish these, it's just gotta wait for the moment.
As a further note, I forget if I mentioned it yet, but the cab itself is going to be a flat kit, with cast resin numberboard assembly, nose, and step guards. To finish the cab will require a Cannon window set, one each DA and DW part, and some grab irons, steps, windshield wipers, and sunshades of your choice.

Not at this time. I have been without a computer capable of running 3D software for the past few months, though hopefully that will change tomorrow (have had one in the shop for over a month.) I had redesigned the cabs so that rather than a single piece, they were made up of multiple subassemblies. I made this choice in hopes that detail will print more clearly on all surfaces, but I have not tested it yet. Shapeways will probably not be the final supplier.

I'm interested as to your thoughts on the Admiral Cab available in HO by a designer on Shapeways currently? Is it decent? Any thoughts appreciated...

If it's the one I've seen, it really has no detail to speak of. I don't know about the accuracy of its dimensions since it's hard to tell from the view on the site.

I thought this may have been the one you ordered to do your measurements with. For now, I'm just going to try and kit bash the Kato cab I have til something better comes along. So far I've gotten the windscreen tilt modified and the windowscreen's sill modified. Next up is the number board area...

I looked very hard at numerous pictures and websites and tried to find some dimensions comparing a the two noses. Finding none, I compared pictures. To me the admiral cab may be slightly (like 3 inches taller than what I've portrayed here), but it's very close. The nose's height comes up to the same approximate spot on the side windows and the steps and side pieces meet about at the same heights. At least to me. I may add a layer of styrene to the top of the nose in an effort to raise it. I need to re-do the steps on the left side, make the anti-climber bigger, and file off the sand filler and where the classification lights went. www.altoonaworks.info/rebuilds/admiralcab.htmlwww.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=3632820

More progress... This needs clean up and sanding. I added some more height to the nose, filed down the classification lights, and redid the front left steps. Also puttied some more gaps.
