When me and my wife bought our house off of her great aunt much to my surprise I was gifted around 50 locomotives and 100+ cars (they all appear to be from the 80s? maybe) were her deceased great uncles ... many of them had been hand painted ... Since I have not had a chance to finish the basement to a point where I can start my layout (the honey do list keeps trumping the layout room) I decided that I cant wait any longer... I want to get to modeling so I picked two locos and have gotten started... my about 20 years off from my layout of my youth has been a long enough break... lol Right now they are soaking in 91% ... this is going to be my first attempt at painting and detailing a locomotive ever... all Ive done since my reintroduction to the hobby a couple of years ago has been two small dioramas .. hopefully it goes well!

Looks like you are on a good start 304. I just did the same with a GP38. Still in progress.
Keep posting your progress.
