I'm kicking around the idea of building an SDP40 in HO, but would like to use a drive/frame from an existing manufacturer instead of building my own. Anyone have any suggestions as to the frame length of the SDP40? -Trevor

Get an Kato SD40 and you will have to move the entire shell forward on the running board to the exact same place were the SD45 cab is sitting on the running board or if you have both, SD40 and SD45, put the SD40 shell over the SD45 running board and built the rear end using and Atlas SDP35 shell and running board for the rear step. SD40/45 and SDP40 are built on the same frame .

Thanks Eric1 I've got a few spare Kato SD40 and SD45's to use and I have to order a few parts from Atlas, which is why I was thinking about the SDP40. -Trevor
