The models look great Eric. Going to try your method for frames when I get back to my kits. Might try the truck conversions first.

Wow. They look great Eric. Nice job did you paint your zebra stripes? Or is that from the microscale kit? Great looking paint job hate to see it dirty but are you gonna weather them up?

The stipe are painted. I stopped using stripe decal while argo and about weathering, I never attemps to it to scare to mess it up.... Éric

Hey, these look great - you did a really nice job on both these models. You should be proud to display and run these, they are really nice.
Regards, Brian

Hello, I am building 3 Kaslo M420 kits and as you have apparently figured out the Atlas U23B frame is not the perfect length , so I am very interested in what looks like brass scratch built frame you made . My main questions are what size piece of brass you started with and were you mite have purchased it. Well your loco's look great if you could help with any of this info that would be great. thanks Ed

The U23b frame seems acceptable to me.

I think what Ed is looking for, and what Eric did on his HR was to make a frame that didn't inhibit the view down through the deck. The HR had see thru deck as opposed to deck plate like the M420s. Rather than mill pretty much all the material from the U23 frame, Eric made a new frame from brass instead.
I'm pretty sure the U23 and M420 share the same truck spacing. The Kaslo body does not fit the U23 frame without some trimming of the coupler box though. Is that what you mean Ed?

There are also some braces on the underside that need to be replicated.
