Another run of undecorated SD50's from Athearn would have been helpful - time to get on the soapbox?

I have a couple undecs, but I'm actually thinking about stripping my factory-painted SD50s. I wanted to upgrade some of the details, and I don't really like the Athearn Bright Future paint job (the yellow on the nose and frame is a different shade, I think because of how they layered the colors). Brian Bennett also pointed out some detail difference with the various CSX SD50 groups that I'd like to replicate.
My SD50s will have a prominent role working as helpers pushing from Brunswick east to Mt. Airy on the Old Main Line, so I want them to look good.

After reading that post on the Diesels list, Athearn's factory decorated SD50s, regardless of SBD/Chessie/CSX paint, will never look the same again....

Excellent Pictures Dave! I have always liked the SD50's and 60's I remember when I lived in White Sulpher Springs WV Watching brand news ones roll through the station running the Chessie paint! Man I wish I had the camera with me that day!. I learned a hard lesson and I always keep one with me now!
Thanks for sharing yours with us.

I went and looked at Tony's SD50. Holly Smokes that guy is a master! What a fantastic job and you talk about attention to detail. Thank you for posting that link. Paulie
