Hello there,
I am a new babie from Hong Kong and would like to seek your help.
I am kitbashing a G-scale NS hi-hood GP40 but came across a problem with painting.
I notice that almost every NS diesel has a lot of safety and warning labels on their hoods (those in red, white and yellow). I would like to know what exactly they say so that I can try replicating them on decals. Unfortunately I am thousand miles away so I don't have a chance to watch the prototypes myself.
Would appreciate it if someone could help post close-ups of those labels with readable text.
Thanks.

Charlie, thanks a lot. that would be very useful although I'm not sure if I can find a data decal like that in G-scale in the end.

Looks great. Too bad there isn't a nose bell on it.

Wow, I got a "No-bell prize", I didn't know that, haha..... ;D
The bell, antenna, sun visor, horn, etc. will be installed later. However, I'm going to place the bell on the long hood end instead as I think it looks better just like those Southern diesels.
I know that will be unprototypical as all the NW GP40's have their bells on thier short hoods. It's purely a personal favorite.

While awaiting detail parts ordered from the U.S., I'm working on the details of the pilots.

Today I continued detailing the pilots with the coupler pockets which were scratchbuilt and given by a friend. I am going to replace the stock couplers with the kadee #1900 couplers when I receive them. The completed pilots have been attached to the underframe. Additional decals (i.e. diesel data & yellow step safety stripes) were applied; some cab details were installed too. ......to be continued

After a long wait, this pair of Kadee #1 couplers arrived today and I intended to get them on my GP40 but it turns out that they look too small after installation. Will keep searching for other options. ......... to be continued
