After purchasing a gallon bag full of cannon parts, I found lots of parts to work on GP50/60s. I'm not a Santa Fe modeler, but have always admired the GP60M. So off to the LHS to buy a NOS RPP shell I went. My goal with this loco is to not get sidetracked and end up with another half finished model on the shelf. project started 4/11/11. I chopped off all the cast detail parts. Everything is C&C parts except the fans, the Q and Dyn fans are DA. I'll be using DW's coupler buffer with Hi-techs rubber hoses. The dynamic brake hatch was the ugliest part of the shell. I removed all details from it except the extended range door.

Depends on when your modeling though......early to mid 2000's I've seen them mixed in with other power. Anyone know when the Santa Fe stopped using them as A-B-A sets on the pig trains?

Wow, I like me some 100 class GP60M's! I'll be following this build - keep up the good looking work! Do you have road numbers picked out yet? Here's a few A-B sets from the mid 90's!

I'm gonna try and update this project every evening I work on it. Tonight I started the pilot and added the anticlimber. I also added the electrical cabinet air filter. I removed the cast grab and added a .010 handle in its place.
