Good grief Charlie Brown, talk about a lot of progress in a short time! Looks good, you make this conversion look sooo easy. Kent

Randy, nice progress. Is the body not seated all the way on the frame or is it just the camera angle?

Look at the first 2 pictures...I haven't done the body/frame mounts yet, and when moving it for different angles I jarred the front up from the frame a bit and didn't notice it until after I edited the pics. There is a lot to do yet, and most of this is just at mock up right now. Considering it's an ATLAS Shell on a Lifelike Proto 2000 SD-9 frame, it sits pretty good. Thanks for the kind words Guys!

Thanks for clearing that up for me. No problem. I've been wondering when we will see some in progress photos of your work here.

Randy, thanks for the prod. I'm still looking for a digital camera and hopefully my old computer has enough horsepower to handle the camera's software. Modelling was easier before I wanted to record my progress. I signed on here to learn from you all and to share what I do. Photos are on my summer to do list.

After doing a search on Google, I see where many sources say the SD40X was originally called the SD35X. Well anyway, I've got the couplers and chassis body mounted on my project, and right now I'm working on detailing the fuel thank and air lines. I've added a frame mounted Details West Bell and I'll be installing the grab irons tonight. Maybe I'll take some pics soon.

Thanks Jim. I still have to add the double MU Boxes, some piping, and the pilot grabs. I used Atlas B23-7 coupler boxes.

Randy, lovely work. Looks great.
Just one comment if I may - as the SD40X had a prototype 645 engine, would it be more correct to have a GP/SD40-style exhaust stack? I know Cannon makes this part. Just curious.
