Thanks I am too. No I had to do my own. The side windows are actually leftover MTH SD70Ace windows and the 4 front windows are just clear sheets of plastic that I cut and glued in.

Before, the kato model came with a RS3L horn. Unfortunatly CN has taken off the original K5H horn and replaced it with a K3LA, which is what I added to the model. The horn is made by details west.

Very nice indeed. Ive always liked these units. I think this might have to be my next project accompanied by the SD40U and GP38-2(W) I'm planning on doing.

I purchased almost all of the parts for this engine from highball graphics. Theyve got a great selecion and ship fast. Kaslo Shops makes the cab, and I believe that they make a "red barn" kit aswell... Thanks!

Very nice job! I'm heading to Vancouver in two weeks to pick up parts for my units. I am doing 4 in total, two in CN and two in BC Rail. I'm using Athearn Blue Box units for the base models. Can't wait!

I know this has been done for a while now, but with winter approaching I thought it would be fun to take a few pictures of this loco in the snow. So here a pic or two of 2507 on the snow scene on my layout. As icicles form and a fresh coat of snow falls, CN 2507 blasts out of the tunnel as it heads up the 2.3 percent grade. Taken in black and white, 2507 comes out of the tunnel and crosses a small mountain road.

Looks great!! Congrats getting into January issue of Model Railroader! Is it posible to get a complete parts list for the build? Did you make your own widows or are the laser cut?

Surprised to on youtube and see that that shot was in Model Railroader. That's pretty neat. Looks great, my only complaint is CN choosing that small nose logo. What did you use to make it look like its snowing, glass splattered with white paint or something?

Just as I had talked myself out of adding one of these to my to do list... I see a fantastic example and find it hard not to want one. Great job there.

Awesome pictures, I think the first one is a good candidate for the January Double D photo at the top of the page.
Excellent job!

Thank you! That picture is actually published in the January 2012 Model Railroader Magazine. Ive done a bit of work to the locomotive since my last post. It's been weathered and Ive also installed sound and lights. I decided to go with the Tsunami GE FDL-16 Modern sound decoder. Its hands down the best GE sound decoder Ive ever heard. Check out the video below to hear it. Theres one thing I have to redo. I placed the LEDs for the nose headlight too far into the shell and so when you look at it from an angle, the ditch lights appear brighter. Ill be moving the LEDs closed to the headlight opening for even lighting. Other than that, its pretty much done. Thanks for all the feedback and support. Its been a great build and Im glad to finally have it (almost) finished! Merry Christmas!!
