Hi everyone. I'm relatively new to this forum, and am still exploring it and soaking up all the cool work everyone is doing! Here is a link to my Photo bucket s898.photobucket.com/home/SPSHASTAROUTE/indexIn it you will find an album on my layout, prototype pics, loco modeling, and freight car modeling. Sorry, but I don't have too many pics of loco modeling, since it's been a couple years since I've done a loco build. I've been preoccupied with layout scenery and freight car builds. I have a blog on the MRH forum that discusses in-depth some of the pics you will see in the Photo bucket. That link is: model-railroad-hobbyist.com/blog/7241 Enjoy, and feel free to comment! Great galleries. Are those long trains standard operating procedure on your layout or just for the photo shoot? I can see why the scenery calls to be worked on, what you have in place looks good.

Thanks for your kind words, everyone. That long train was 61 cars and 6 locos (4x2). It's the longest I've attempted so far. Normally I run 3-4 locos head end, and 30-45 cars. My sidings will hold a 40+ car train no sweat. I'm a lone wolf operator for the most part, and don't operate too frequently. My main interest in the hobby is loco and freight car builds. The layout gives my equipment a home more than anything. As I get more of the scenery finished, I'll probably get more into operating. This year's winter project is to get more upper deck scenery completed, and to rough-in the buildings at the lumber mill in Weed. I've got to wind down the rolling stock builds first!

Mike, That is OUTSTANDING work....Both the layout and the models. Just out of curiosity and to give me hope.. What are the layout/room dimensions? We are going to be about 22x24 two levels with a probable helix someplace to get up and down...Id love to see your track plan and get some ideas..Keep up the great work.. Paul

The layout room is approximately 16 X 25, but it has a couple doglegs that are wider still, and the helix is kind of off by itself in the "L" of the L shaped room. I drew my trackplans on graph paper sevral years ago, and I think they are missing anyway. I've had lots of requests for a trackplan, so sometime I need to get 3d planit or something and make a new scematic.
