I have decided to paint my SD80MAC for NS. The conrail marker lights are going to be blanked out and I got the correct horn and added metal lift rings.
I am contemplating using some see through fans instead of the Kato ones. Does anyone make the correct fans for the SD80MAC?
I'll get pics up as soon as I can.

Detail Associates also made them but they too are difficult to come by, Walthers has stopped listing a 52" Q fan in the Detail Associates line so it makes me wonder if they have been discontinued. I would recommend checking with Highball Graphics, they may have what you are looking for.

I decided against the see throught fans. Too much work to find them and with school being in, time is at a premium. Anyway it is painted all black. I am going to paint the white over the black, instead ofthe usual way, light beofre dark. You will see why I am going to do this later.

Nsmodeler24, I would imagine he used Floquil Engine Black. Although I can't really tell you.

I have skills like that but one question....did you spray a clear gloss over the paint? Then apply decals?
