The weathering is gorgeous, some of the best I've seen on a gray model! It looks fantastic man!

So what was the weathering method on this? Gray and white are hard colors to weather, and I'm guessing what you've done would work on both!

I like the weathering on grey color, du you apply a black wash before your dry brush ?

I like the weathering on grey color, du you apply a black wash before your dry brush ? Yes, the weathering consists of five layers of washes and chalks. Mostly black paint used for the washes with some brown paint to highlight certain areas. I didn't actually do any dry brushing. It's all washes with varying degrees of thinner to achieve the look I was after. -Andrew

No airbrushing or powders used at all on this either?
On your washes did you erase on the high areas before the next coat was applied?
I like it,it looks used but not overly done...

I like it,it looks used but not overly done... I used some powders but only for the roof and the pilots. I did not use an airbrush for the weathering only to seal it. The washes were for the most part pretty thin, only putting a little paint on so I could slowly build up the effect.

Superb job Andrew! Congratulations also on having this unit on the homepage photo! Were the washes acrylic or oil based? I have some light colored units like KCS that I would love to do this too, but have been holding off. Darin
