The layout is looking great so far, Greg but you'd better hide any visible cans of gloss coat since you know that's what Hoover "weathers" his MRL units with........
I hate to see them all come up missing since we all know that 2 or 3 light coats of high gloss just ain't quite good enough for ol' Glenn!

Been awhile since I updated my post here.... I have all three switches modified with new frogs and throwbars. Two of the three are installed with toroises ready to be wired. I should have the third done tomorrow and start wiring up all my switches and rail so I can begin preliminary testing. I was tired of working on wiring so I cleared the benchwork off and set up a train. More pictures on the blog... oregontrunk.blogspot.com/

Is that the SP&S main line to the left? It looks prototypical to me if it is. ;D Glenn

The pegboard was actually already in the basement on the walls. I have examined it and it is pretty simple. THey placed 2x4 every four feet around the room and just screwed the sheets to the wall. I have seen the sheets at Lowe's and Home depot over in their lumber department. I hope this helps!!
Glenn: No that is the MRL M/L =)

Nice Layout! Being a cabinetmaker by trade, I noticed and approved of your 3/4" cabinet grade plywood sub-base. Liked your handlaid turnouts too. Are you using Fasttracks?

Mike,
Glad you approve of my benchwork, I always believe that it is better to use quality materials as I find if you don't you will regret it later!!
As for the switches One is a Walthers and one is from BK Enterprises. The BK Enterprises one had all the PC board ties replaced and then I glued CVMW ties in between them to give it a better apprearance. All my throw bars are from Proto87 stores and I have also replaced all the frogs with the Proto87 frogs. I have three more factory switches I purchased so I will use those to complete this layout but I think my next purchase will be a Fasttracks jig.

I have not been doing much in theway of locomotives or even rolling stock but I have made some progress on the layout. I have started on the rest of my track and need to get it finished. I decided to get my backdrop finished before I spill paint all overmy trackwork. I spent most of the day Saturday painting the backdrop... Here is a close up...
