1 mans 30+ year collection of trains

Ok here is the album of this guys trains,
I didn't get pictures of the O scale stuff when I started talking with him about buying and what they had,, but they had plenty of that to.
I won't go into the whole story about it, but this guy suffered poor eye site the last few years of his life,
he also road his shooter ( like a rascal shooter ) several miles to get to the Hobby shop.
Sorry I never got to meet this gent, he was quite the modeler and loved his trains.

WOW, thats a lot of stuff there, it'd be a hell of a time trying to sell all that on ebay.

Glen and Andrew your both correct,
it amazing what you can collect in a certon amount of time, they said aroudn 150 locos and 750 cars, and it would be hell trying to sell all that in Ebay,
That is why they listed on a local site here and craigslist, and my absession with this hobby doing train searches led me to find it.
I'm not sure how long before they started selling he passed away, but I'm guessing around 7 or 8 months if I recall, and they didn't want to hassel with it all in Ebay and just wanted it sold.
The layout should of been mine though, 350 bucks the way you see it in the pictures, take it apart and out how ever you wanted, but a sudden parting of ways with the g/f canceled that, an not enough room for it where I moved back to, or time to go and dismantle it and store it.
The scarey part, my three trips to this house, sent me over the edge and a bigger collectiont hen this guy had, lol... I'm getting slowly closer to a loco and car count, it scares me to think of what I really do have, Now I still have some teen years to go before my 30th years in this hobby from when I got serious about it, and I know I have to be pushing 200 locos and 900 cars by now.. I tried 1-800-trains-off but got a recording

WOW! Thats quire a bit of stuff there. I have only been collecting for 17 years and have amased a healthy collection of 150 SP loco's and 975 freigth cars. I am still adding to that too! I'll just make sure it all get donated to a museum when the time comes.

I wonder if anyone here knows these guys,
I can't remember the name, but I met them on Ebay some years ago when i first started the internet thing.
They are from Calf If I recall, he and his dad have a UP layout in half of a two car garage, that wasw being thought to make the whole garage,
But when i was emailing with the son back around 2001-02
between the two, they hadm if I recall, 1500 locos and 5000 freight cars at that time.
And like us, still adding to it.

It's funny how much stuff we can end up with, and STILL not have something that fits our roads...

I'm actually afraid to, I'm trying too get my stuff a little more organized so I can do a count and see just what really I do have and try to come up with a list of it.
