... since I used the same details there is no difference to tell. I don't mean to insult you or anything, because they both look gorgeous, but there's walkway tread on the P2K and not on the Athearn.

That's really great! I like the cab detailing, I've never done a switcher.

those are sweet. I still really like it when a BB unit comes out looking this good.
I know the athearn motor is noisy. If you can live with it as is, that's cool. IF you really want to add sound, the motor Athearn uses in their new SW1500s should be available from whoever deals mashima motors or maybe you can get a similar motor from that Dr. Motor guy.
The other motor that mashima makes small enough to fit in switchers will probably be too big to have in with a sound unit. Then, if you use the smaller module, instead of the board decoder, maybe you could squeeze it in there no? I'm wondering, because I have 2 of these myself.

Who's detail parts did you use for the whistle (horn) & bell? Want to do 1-2 for my LAJ layout. Santa Fe derailed 4 SSB1200s they were going to let LAJ use. So Santa Fe told them to keep using CF7s out of the LA pool. But hey it's my MR!
