;)While studying up on my kitbash, I found some interesting things. Here in the south, the R/C cars are different from those in the North and Midwest parts of the CSX system. I noticed that many in the Midwest have a lot of sheet metal blocky structures on the long part of the car, looking much like barriers used to keep crews off of them except on the front platform area. Also, I have more than one picture and video of crews riding these cars. This could be simply done while moving from the service area to the work area, though I have seen crews use the platform while trimming or building trains from classification tracks. The ones I have seen down South are built from SCL era North American built 55ft pulpwood rack cars. These were the newest replacement cars in the early 1980s for all the old 40ft ACL, L&N and SAL rack cars that were just plain worn out. The Platforms I have seen retain their V decks, which I find interesting also. If you know more, I would love to hear it! Thanks for all the very good information you posted! That leave me with a burning question---does the info you gave mean I should have this in the modern EMD board?

It's not my picture, but here's that 6-axle GE that was turned into a "remote boat!" And, I was wrong, in this particular instance--the prime mover remained in place, they just removed and plated over all the air intake vents: IT also appears to have hit/cornerd something pretty good, which is why it's not in service anymore!
