No no window blinds on this one.... I hate my camera but it is all I got and that gloss coat from the Future does not help with picture taking any...Going to do the decals next week(since I am going to work tomorrow) and the touch up painting, then the dull coat and a light weathering on it.....I wish you could see the detail on the trucks they turned out pretty good...More to come...

Looks good. Did Eric Brooman get rid of the Utah Belt?

I recall in an article along time ago that Eric was a school teacher and on a fixed income so most of his engines where kit bashed back then. So to keep getting new engines I bet he uses the money from the sales of his older equipment to buy more modern stuff. Have you seen how much money he gets for his stuff?

Looks great Anthony, where are you getting the decals from, is Eric selling them or are you piecing together?

I got all my info from Eric himself some years back..I sent a letter for him to MR and they forwarded it to him and he send me a letter back. He told me all the stuff I needed for the paint and decals and i will post all that on here in the next couple of days..It is all decals from stuff available from Microscale....

OK I have all my reference gathered up on what i know about the Utah Belt and I am going to share it with you...It is up to you to decide what you want to do.....
I have a folder of all the UB articles and individual pictures I could find for references because I just love everything about the UB (am I crazy?) and am going off alot of what Eric has done for my Free-Lanced RR the Kansas Pacific...
For his engine numbering system Eric uses the approx. horsepower of the engine for the first two numbers and if it is a four axle engine the last two numbers are 0-49,a six axle engines last two numbers would be 50-99..,,, Example...an SD50....around 3500 horse and a six axle....so it would be 3555+...
Eric uses Floquil Reefer Yellow for the yellow and a 50/50 mixture of Floquil SP Lark Dark Gray and Floquil UP Harbor Mist gray...
For the decals ,,, stripes are Microscale number 91152 8" Wide Black,,,,, and lettering I am using Microscale number 90031 HO Roman-Condensed Letters and Numbers-White..I am not sure if the largest letters on this sheet are correct or not but I believe so.The number boards are a different stlye and I have to see if I have anything in my box close to them...
I do not know what the lettering is for the wide cab modern scheme so sorry but you are on your own there....
A few specific details I will include are Utah Pacific DH-60 for the horn....Precision Scale 39152 for the bell and I used Sunrise h-114 SP nose cluster....
Good luck if you would like to build one of the engines...here is a list of engines that where or are now on the UB roster..
FT, F7A&B, SW1200, MP15AC, GP9, SD9, GP38-2, SD35, GP40-2, SD40, SD40-2, SD45, SD50, GP50, GP60, SD60M-3WINDOW, SD70M, SD75I, AC4400CW

I own two Original Utah Belt units myself, an SD40-2 and an GP50. I have to say that unit looks great, though it might be the lighting (or maybe my eye calibration), but the gray looks a few shades off.

I just might have to buy a GP50 and do one up. A SD70ACe would look awesome too, I wonder if UB jumped on the bandwagon and orderd any yet?

Bradley, he's definitely got SOMETHING in the works, he's cleared out quite a number of units. I cannot wait for another article to come out.

I'll say, GP22ECOs, no Gensets, then ES44ACs & SD70ACe's! He'll keep it simple. He has plenty GP38, & 40-2's GP50s that could be rebuilt into ECO's.
