Hi all;hope you're doing well.Been looking at notes from way back on locos I wanted to kItbash.Been interested in these mutts since first seeing Precision National GP 8S and 10S on the LIRR IBN THE 1970S. Anyone give any of these units a try at scratchbuilding?
ICG GP 26 2600-2601
SOO GP 22 2254
GT CS9 1001-1004 (Cat powered S 4 units)
The Alco API 620 and the Bombardier counterpart BX620
MOPAC GP 12 OR GP 16 rebuilt rs3 s and rs11s
Morrison Knudsen 5302-5303 Rebuilt U25bs with serious sheetmetal work
Just an informal kinda survey;interested in what you have to say.
Take care and thanks, Anthony

I built an N-Scale GP-22 about 35-40 years ago. It was a real case of a prototype kitbash, a GP-35 shortened to fit on a GP-9 chassis. The original GP-9 was wreck damaged and a GP-35 was being written off for memory, hence it's name. Add 35 to 9, divide by 2 and you get 22. One of the easier kitbashes out there. Cheers Steve NZ

Thanks,Steve.I figured about the same here, just got to redo the radiator screens and air intake/dynamic area....
And by the way-a shout out to you for that excellent work in n scale with those Alco hoods;great stuff!

For those interested, there was a article on kitbashing a HO scale SOO LINE GP22 in the Oct. 1980 Model Railroader by Jim Kelly.

Thanks for the kind words Anthony.
Jim Kelly's article was the trigger for my kitbash. Good article and I'd nearly forgotten about it. Thanks Dan. Cheers Steve NZ
