Hello from Toronto, Ontario,
I'm actually getting back into the hobby (thanks to covid).
I've recently discovered / dusted off a box of Tyco trains in the basement. I found an old Tyco C430 Canadiana locomotive I'd like to bring in the 20th century and upgrade to DCC. Anyone ever do that before?
I've read those old 'pancake' motors are not ideal for DCC and will likely burn out the decoder. That being said, anyone know of a good chassis swap for the Tyco C430? I've heard of the Atlas U23b, Athearn U30b will fit, but not sure?
Any thoughts/ideas?
Thanks

Welcome to the Double D, Chris!! Some of our folks have posted conversions to Tyco models. You might find some inspiration there.

Hi Chris There are lots of good threads in here where you can find just about anything. I can't held you directly as I'm an N-Scaler, but get searching and see what you can find. Cheers Steve New Zealand.
