Hello, Quick question, I have two strips of Evergreen plastic, one .03" thick and one .04" thick that I use as spacers. One of them is placed on the side of a kit that has the grabiron holes drilled, then I add the grabirons, and then ACC the grabirons onto the model. I then slide out the plastic strip and all grabirons are the same distance from the model wall. Now, as I have not used them for a long long time, I can't remember which one was recommended as the spacer for HO scale grabirons.
I am thinking the .03" spacer is correct, but any suggestions as to what others do in this situation? Ian

I use a 2X8 stripwood (HO scale)in the same manner as you use the styrene. The prototype requires no less than two-inch spacing between the grabiron and the body of the car or locomotive.

2" in real life comes out to a little over 0.02" in HO scale, so your 0.03" spacer would be correct.
