Hard to keep this brief but - HO scale modeler, returning from a twenty year hiatus away from the hobby. Between '95 and 2000, was a regular contributor to Mainline Modeler, Model Railroader, and Model Railroading, including articles on building a GN GP20 from a GP18, creating an NP GP9 "torpedo boat", and painting a Frisco SD45 - and several freight car articles.
Funny how, back then, I was modeling BN merger era, while living in Texas...and now here I am in former GN/NP/BN territory, and loving it!
Got started again in the hobby this year, but was limited to only two shows prior to COVID. Good grief, has the hobby changed...the quality of RTR stuff is phenomenal, but there's still room for us scratchbuilders and kitbashers! EBAY has been my friend 😁
Collecting again nonetheless, am heavily involved in several projects, including a GN Phase 1 U33C, two more GP20's, an NP SD45, and a GP35...all "undec". I have another ten locomotives in queue after that 😊
At any rate, thanks for having me, I hope to share, learn and discover here! Cheers, all!
Chris
