I feel like I hardly have any projects completed so I decided to dust off one of my 75-85% projects and see if I can knock it out. I started this one maybe 10 years ago and never progress any further after that and I had it almost done. This was another I bought it cheap because why not? Started life as a Conrail unit and I happened to work on a sister unit IRL that was a LLPX lease. So here we are. I'm left with switching one set of journals over to Timkens, installing some handrails ( can't decide between Athearn plastics or a set of KV etch), throwing on drop steps, a couple washed out warning labels (white patch dry transfers)and DCC and lights. I will also probably take off the proto87 wheels and turn up a set of Code88s.

I have a couple of back-of-the-closet projects that need reviving as well. Thanks for the motivation!! The number of partial projects I have is almost embarrassing. I've committed myself to not starting or purchasing new ones. I'm starting with the ones closest to finished and also purging some I've lost interest in. The stay-at-home orders have given me the time I never thought I'd have.

The stay-at-home orders have given me the time I never thought I'd have. I hear you. I took a long, hard look at projects in progress and those unstarted. If I didn't want to put a decoder in it, could always find a reason to ignore it for a different project, or knew something better had hit the market, I sold it off. Never looked back. Never missed any of them. I've tried to stay disciplined to having 2, maybe 3 projects going at a time just so I don't have to stop while paint dries.
I also keep a running list of every project I finish, from April to April every year. It's been fun to see the wins mounting. Something like 39 projects since April 2017.

I've also been using this time to work on building the layout so my box of projects hasn't been touched much yet. Soon though.....
