Another project which has been sitting on the bench for a while, now finally completed.
This one will be for our RR club layout (for those wondering, BVRail.com is a link to our shop: BVHobby, but we do have a Facebook site. I am not much on that, but I guess it is pretty easy to find).
I still have a couple wires to plug in (which I delegated to a local contractor) but it will be ready for our layout soon.
It's 100% brass, and I now feel like I will have to make another one for my own layout (on which it is displayed now)....
That was a cool project: way less technical in regard to machining than a custom loco, but interesting built regarding soldering, and heat transfer insulation techniques I had to figure out. It is not perfect in regard to alignment (some walkways are a bit twisty as they suffered final soldering touch ups), but way better than I would have been able to make 3-4 years ago.

Thanks guys. I happen to see these quite often as I am traveling for work. It's been a while that I had this project in mind. Originally, I intended to make it for my home layout, but I think it will be more relevant on our railroad club's layout, then accessible to many more people to enjoy, as it seems to draw attention.

Thank you Anthony. Well I kinda liked the idea of having a billboard on my layout. Then since I have already drilled a hole... HO Outfront Billboard 3x6 2 by Ironstef70, sur Flickr HO Outfront Billboard 3x6 1 by Ironstef70, sur Flickr HO Outfront Billboard 3x6 3 by Ironstef70, sur Flickr I opted for a 3x6, rather than a 4.5 x 19, as I thought the latter was a bit bulky for that layout. t was meant for our railroad Club anyways.
Then I did not felt like putting another month worth of work on a similar project.
Some will also notice that I have installed the fence behind. That layout is a work in progress, but I am not retired yet... And even if I was, I am sure my work bench would be as full.
Now, moving on to the next project: custom painted, insulated & detailed brass (Ajin) CN SD40-2W #5354. All bells and whistles, TCS Wowsound decoder. I also wish to weather it too.

Fantastic work! The detail is amazing and really life like too! Glad to see a project that you can look back on and see your skills progressing, it's always satisfying!

Thanks SB. Indeed, I am now taking less time redoing stuff because I am not pleased with it. In my early times (almost 10 years ago already) I used to repaint a diecast excavator 6 times before I am satisfied with it. Time is running so fast... And welcome to the Forum!
