Another one of my projects is a CP GP9u. I'm doing CP 8213, which like many others, spent it's last years working in local service in Winnipeg. I got a head start on the project by using one of the new Walthers Mainline GP9 chop nose models decorated for CP. Updates to come!

So here is the progress so far: Because the model came with a chopped nose, the mods needed were minimal. All I had to do was remove the class lights, putty over some access doors, and sand. Then add a Details West headlight and some access doors that were scavenged off an old Athearn fatbody GP35 I've had since forever. The number board came from a Cannon and Co cab kit that I thought I was going to use for my HH SD40-2 but decided not to. The bell is a Miniatures By Eric part, and the boards themselves came from the original model. I cut them out and installed them in the new housing. The Sinclair is a Details Associates part. The running boards were de-skirted, of course. The dynamic brake fan was drilled out and replaced with one from the HH SD40-2, since that model will be getting new fans. The horn is also a Details West part. The class lights were also shaved off the rear of the loco. I've only touched up the paint on one of them as of now. The handbrake is a Utah Pacific part, #BW-68 Still waiting on some parts to arrive, and then I should be able to wrap this thing up pretty quickly.

Nice job! I’ve run lots of those 8200s. My favorite was 8247. It had the electronic governor and wheel slip system. It was just downright amazing what it would pull.
