I spent most of Friday getting this thing painted...and I remember why I love Polly Scale. I don't know what others do, but I got the primer, orange and blue shot in about three hours. I just love how quick PS dries, with NONE lifted off by the masking tape. I'll need to give the side panels another coat, but other than that she's starting to look like the real thing. Decals were ordered from Circus City Decals & Graphics, which I highly recommend. Matt is a great guy to do business with, and the cost is very reasonable. Those Sergents really make a big difference too...I don't think I can use Kadee couplers anymore.

I remember going out the north concourse and seeing these. Did head end power run off of the prime mover, or was there a separate genset? I’ve just forgotten. The F40C's were always shaft-driven. Someone on youtube did a video on programming a F40 for sound. The point was to keep the prime mover in the throttle 8 setting at all speeds.

The newer sound files offer a "Run 8" or heavy load function, whatever they call it. I mapped it to F19. ...I'm not sure it requires an entire video though
