Is the Nathan P5 the horn this locomotive was delivered with? If not any clue when it was replaced?

I believe ICG 6030-6033 were delivered with Leslie's. As far as when it was swapped I don't know.

A trip to the train shop scored what I was looking for. 30 gauge wire for sand line/hoses. Sorry for the crappy pics. Using the nubs that represent the bolts, I drilled two #73 holes in the bottom of the trucks. Then I shaved and sanded said nubs flat. I used Details West SB-330 sander brackets. They are made of white metal and very soft. If anyone knows of better ones let me know. Next up, I stripped a 1" to 1 1/4" piece of insulation off the wire. Using the DW instructions, I inserted a straight pin into the insulation to stretch it out. Then sliding it onto the pin on the sander bracket. With a little bit of CA, I glued the bracket and hose on the bottom of the truck. Also shaved the enormous headlight off the rear and replaced it with a Detail Associate part.

Made a whoopsie. I mounted two of the sander brackets wrong. All the sanders go on the outboard axles (closest to the pilot). Got crossed up and mounted two on the inboard axles. Corrected this today

Readded the MU boxes and drop steps that were removed for the treadplate process. Also mounted the sand filler hatch, eyebolts and fan grab. Just a little teaser. Almost there.

Looking really good. What was your technique for the wheels? They look perfect.

Looks great...it might be time to solder some wires to each metal sideframe (whatever the thin metal axle bearing thing is called) for better conductivity. I've done it on a few HT-C trucks and it seems better than relying on their original design, and you can clip off that horrid metal part next to the drive shaft when you're done!

Since steel is not a very good conductor.

Yeah, this happened. Never was really happy with the treadplate. Don't get me wrong, Cannon makes a nice product. I used CA to glue it down. After a little research, should've used a different adhesive. It was always popping up. I aquired an Athearn Genesis IC GP38-2 that has treadplate and you can barely see it. Anyway, I have some Archer treadplate that I'm probably going to put down.

Glad to see you took my advice! Edit: Disregard, I think I suggested it for someone else's project. But the Archer decals are an excellent product nonetheless... Yeah, this happened.
