First, a bit of project history. I started this build at least 10 years ago, before Stewart released the Centuries. The idea at the time was to build a CP M 630, and since no power chassis was available, it would be unpowered but would have a prime mover partially modelled, with some hood doors open. The main hood, cab and sill were built at that time, using Atlas C424/425 parts. I installed Precision Scale latches on the main hood doors (a lot of work) and after priming the main parts, I got busy with other projects.. Fast forward, I dug this out this winter and decided to build the last CN M 636 insted, #2338, as it was in service until 1997 and is still kicking around MacMillian Yard in Toronto. A new, longer rad section was constructed with louvres removed and see through mesh on the hood sides, and the front intake area was completed. Additional doors and latches were done using styrene overlays and Sunrise Enterprises latches. Doors with Alco cabinet handles will have handles installed after paining to make masking easier. Dofasco sideframes are from Prototype Model Industries. Once the weather warms up enough, it is paint shop time. I will post photos again once she's done.

Holy Smurf!! Thats one of those models that is truely too good to paint. Excellent work! I really like the exposed prime mover and open hood doors.

That is a very beautiful model, even without the paint and decals on it. I can't wait to see it completed.

I somehow managed to miss this till now. Great work! The look of an engine with lots of detail parts and lots of styrene is one that will never get old!!!

Now that is some serious modeling. Not just a detailing project but a true build. Looks incredible. I'm in awe.

I don't like Alco's as a rule (though I'd say the 636 was the best looking of the bunch). However, your model is really spectacular.
Beautiful work.
