Hello, this is my first post so I'll describe what my motives are. I am a Proto48 modeler, Conrail in 1995 in Central Michigan. I have a small point to point switching layout I'm working on. The layout will only need 2-3 locos at one time so I don't plan on having too many around.
I am going to scratchbuild 2 CR GP38-2s. One will be an old Penn Central purchased unit 7964 and the other will be a Conrail purchased unit 8262. I have drawings of most of what I need to build both from the frame up. I am stuck on good walkway photos though. I've looked about everywhere I could think of to not come up with much. From what I understand, the 38-2's walkways where primarily 1/2" diamond plate. This would lead me to believe that there really isn't any sort of pattern in the plates but I do know that there are several plates used to complete the surface. I am assuming the front anticlimber would have its own pattern that would not match up to the plate between the nose and the anticlimber.
Can anyone provide some crisp photos of the walkways?
Thanks in advance,
Patrick Welch Grand Rapids, Michigan

I was able to measure up a CF&E GP38-2 over the weekend but it had a different anticlimber than I need
