Looking for early one-of-a-kind diesels P&PU's #200 caught my eyes. Built by Davenport-Besler in 1938 it has a streamlined look (at least for a switcher); with 105tons and 760hp from four diesels (two under each hood) it is a rather powerful, fierce looking switcher. P&PU #200Model will be built in 1/29 scale, using parts of an USA-Trains 44t-switcher. Regards Norman

Well, I added one of Rock Island's home-built motor (baggage-) cars to my project list in 1/29 scale The prototype wasbuilt using a heavyweight passenger car (probably a baggage car or something similar), putting two 400hp diesels with generators inside and shoving two contemporary power trucks under it. RI built several of that, most of them with front and rear platforms - I chose #9006 the only one w/o the platforms. RI #9006Following the prototype construction an Aristo-Craft heavweight will donate the shell and roof. Power trucks will be taken from USA-Trains NW-2 with slight modifications (adding leave springs, removing brake cylinders etc.). Regards Norman

After finishing CBQ's 'General Pershing Zephyr' I'll go on transforming streamliner coaches into shovelnoses. CBQ #9906A 'Sillver King' (and maybe 9906B 'Silver Queen', too) #9906 A&BAnd DRGW's short-lived early M-1 'Prospector' by Budd Rio Grande 'Prospector'Scale would be 1/29, units will be powered using modified Aristo-Craft's AAR B-trucks. Another unique switcher is in the planning stage- RI's two Davenport 112ton
Not completely sure about doing the early version (black with with meshed openings on the side) or the later one (as seen in the link - maroon with radiator screens on each end)
Parts from USA-Trains basket-cases:
Underframe of a NW-2, center cab of a GE 44t and modified NW-2 loong hoods
A rather easy-to-do demonstrator: GE UM-20...it is very close to an Alco FA, so an old Aristo-unit will serve.

Can't wait to see how you do the RI #799 (and I would favor the black version)!!
