I can't remember where I read about this method of weathering, but I gave it a shot with no experience and I am stunned with how it came out! These are oil-based paints that come in squeeze tubes from an art store including Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna and Raw Umber. I used a 1" brush and mineral spirits to thin the paint. You apply the paint and then dip the brush in mineral spirits and drag it straight down the car sides to make the streaking rust effect. To make the lettering and logos appear to be running and fading, you take a wax crayon of the same color as the lettering, underline each character with the crayon, then drag a brush soaked in mineral spirits straight down. Easy as can be!
