I had Built a GBW RS20 many, many, many, years ago when my modeling skills where not the best. I decided to build a new RS20 model. This time I will start the build with an Athearn RS3 RTR Undec Loco. I also removed the Tiger Valley Kit from my old RS20 model. My plan is to make a rubber mold of the old Tiger Valley Conversion Kit so I can do more than one model if I want. I will also try to document some of the custom jigs I have built while making this model.
The Green Bay and Western rebuilt their 4 RS3 locomotives with a newer Alco Prime mover, during this rebuild they also rebuilt the Cab and short nose of the locomotive giving the Chop Nose appearance. With my build I will start with the Cab. One of the major spotting differences with the RS20 Cab is the Side Cab Windows changed size. For this I purchased a RS11 Cab off of E-bay. To cut out the Windows I mat a cutting/sanding jig at work with the company's Dremel 3-D printer. I also made a sanding gage so I knew how far down I needed to make the opening on the original RS3 Cab
Thanks Mike Slater

In order to fit the Tiger Valley Low Hood onto the model a few modifications need to be done. First the Wight on the frame needs to be removed off of the frame, This was easily done with a fine tooth saw. Also the smaller cab windows will need to be removed off of the original cab so the Tiger Valley casting will fit onto the model

Thanks Mike Slater

Made a little progress, we hopefully I will make some progress to make some more RS20's than the one.... I made a two piece rubber mold to make a cab/nose as a one piece casting...... Now to get some resin after work, and see if I can make this mold work for me.
Thanks for looking Mike Slater

Definitely a project to watch. The GB&W ALCO RS20s were interesting locomotives... a shame what has happened to them in the past couple of years.

The 305 is still active at CF Industries, now painted similar to their ex-BRC S-6. The 305 has had it's cabs sides modified with large one piece windows, kinda looking like a picture window.......
The Minnesota Commercial traded the 307 to NRE several years ago, and it was probably stripped for parts and scrapped.
