Finished the painting on the sill and walkway, added the sill stripes and put a crew in the cab. All that's left is to paint the handrails, grab irons, steps and pilot details and more warning decals.

LOVE it!!! Where did you get the magnetic MU cables?
www.pacific-western-rail.com/ho_scale.php I probably should have gotten the short hoses instead of medium but i played it safe, the magnetic brake hoses will be next.
Thanks for the comments guys, small update. I have the rest of the decals applied, the grab irons installed and I decided not to paint the white stripes on the walkways and used decals. I think they look better then the ones I painted on the steps and might consider painting over the steps and using the same decals, I think it'll look a bit neater.

Ah once you weather the steps the white stripes will blend in.
If I could make one suggestion though...you should probably hit those decals with some solvaset to get rid of the silvering. A couple applications should make them settle down nicely.

I've been using Microset and Microsol for the decals, I thought once I sprayed the clear coat it would get rid of that film sheen. I'll give solvaset a try. Since we're on the topic of adhesives, what's everyone using to glue plastic windows without the clear plastic getting foggy?
I use Micro Kristal Klear to glue in the windows. Elmers white glue will work too, but too much glue will be murky. Micro Kristal Klear will stay clear and a tiny bit flexible.
If you've already clear coated, you'll have to prick the decal with a pin to allow the solvaset to flow in behind. It will also create tiny bubbles under the film now, no biggie just pop the little bubbles one at a time. I've rescued many old decals that solvaset settled down.

I have not sprayed it with clear coat yet, I'm waiting on a few more parts that still need to be painted. The solvaset has been ordered and I'll give the micro kristal klear a try, thanks for the tips.

Bob, I've been using "Canopy Glue" lately - and lovin' it!! I've used Krystal Klear too, but if you're a little sloppy (like me!), it'll dry clear, but you'll notice a little 'lens effect' where it dried thicker. I have not had that problem with Canopy Glue.
