Two examples of doodlebugs that were rebuilt to diesel- or oil-electrics by railroad shops. Both models are scratchbuilt in 1/29-scale using parts from USA-Trains, Bachmann & Aristo-Craft UP M-23 - one of the last McKeen-cars delivered, was rebuilt to diesel-electric drive in 1932 Body is an Aristo HW, front truck from a NW2 by USA-Trains, rear truck an Aristo Sierra-coach truck (wheelbase has to be stretched) Shortened boy with parabolic front and round end Meanwhile I repainted the brown areas with a lighter brownish color - I followed the brown similar to ConCor's M-10000, which is too dark I was told. Had to take new photos when lettering is applied. PRR #4663 - rebuilt from gas-electric to oil-electric while receiving a streamlined shovelnose Once again, an Aristo HW used as a body, an USA-Trains NW2 truck on the front and an LGB-US-coach-truck on the rear and out of the paint shop missing lettering Floor plans (and prototype photos) show asymmetrical arrangements of engineer's and fireman's side (e.g. cab door on engineer's side only). The only available (H0-brass) model (of NJ Custom Brass) has wrong arrangements of windows as well as cab doors. Regards Norman
