Kurt, which Cannon fans did you use? I have a Cotton Belt GP30 I've been working on and I'd like to replace the fans on it, but I don't know which ones to use. For the dynamic brake fan I used a Cannon 1851 and the radiators were 1701 for the 48" fans and the 36" is a 1706. Thank you for the nice comments everyone! If there is interest I will try to post an update soon on the painting and decaling.

Kurt~
I am definitely interested in this rescued project. The locomotive looks a million times better than when you started, please keep us updated when you get the chance.
Sincerely, PVRR2647

So I'm not sure if I took any photos of the model in primer as I can't seem to find any. I used Scalecoat MOW Grey as my primer and sprayed the shell and fuel tank thoroughly as I didn't want any of the red staining to how through (and I was sick of seeing red). The model languished on my bench for quite a while before I started painting for whatever reason. Anyway here it is fully painted with Scalecoat BN Green and Loco Black. The green looks like lime green in these photos but it really looks good in person. I'm using a point and shoot camera and my photo skills are lacking...

In it's current state, if you hadn't detailed your progress, no one could have guessed that you started with that red heap! It looks great!

<<golf clap>> bravo on this one, you got me looking at my potential rabbits a little differently now. I always dismissed the brutal repaints, and you saved this one...

Very nice work. It's amazing to see where it's at now considering the starting point.

Thank you to everyone that has expressed their thoughts on this project! I really do appreciate it very much. My wife and I are currently on the tail end of a total remodel of our house and needless to say modeling has been on the back burner for the last 3 months. I have managed to decal this rescue while staying with relatives and rest assured I will try to get cell phone pictures uploaded soon for all to critique and enjoy. And again thanks for your patience, understanding and support. It's been a fun project and I love hearing everyone's reactions to the progress!

What magic you've done on this rescue!! Very sad(and unbelievably red) to begin with. However, you've beat all odds and have managed to turn this GP30 in the right direction! Can't wait to see more!

My apologies for the poor quality photos. At least you all can see the progress! Nice! I remember this unit in fresh paint when it was used around here in Vancouver B.C.about 1971. I think I have some Kodachromes I shot of her somewhere in my collection. She was one of my favourites, Dan M.

That is one of the most amazing resurrections of what many would call a lost cause that I have ever seen. Inspirational to all of us who have boxes full of "basket cases"... with even a little effort they may not be too far gone!
