Thanks ICG. Here is the mate to the #600. This is #650 and I was a little more comfortable with this one and I like the heavy weathered use look. Mike

Nice Mike...I commend you for "going for it" in such a small scale. The overall vibe of the models look like the protos and I really like the paint failure you copped. Just curious, the tanks, trucks and bottom in general are more brown dust/dirt on the protos and you used black/gray...why?

I would assume that during their life all of the colors were in different stages. These will be runners and handled frequently. Thanks Nick , Mike

Hey Mike! It's good to see you active on this forum! That's outstanding weathering. Given the challenge of perspective in N Scale, makes it even better! You really captured the look of HARD working GEs. You should show some of Gavin's work too! ~ Carmine

I do not do mass amounts of detail on my stuff as it get man handled quite often. Thanks , Mike

That's really the point, Mike... it's not overdone. It's "tasteful" weathering, and it turned out great!

This is a pretty good effort fifer, I like the paint fade.
My main suggestion would be to add some brown to the trucks, tank and pilots on both. Also to add the yellow reflective strips, and maybe darken the handrails with some brown colours too. That's just what I get from comparing the model to the photos.
Good job darkening up the grills by the way, a lot of folks miss/skip that step but it makes a big difference.

Vince is right, Mike.... You should make a quick entry in December's Diorama build!! Between you, Robin and Gavin, you guys could make something really special. It could be only 8" by 16", just big enough for some pictures! GO FOR IT man!! ~ Carmine
