Hey Taylor, that's a great project and your award is well deserved. Congratulations. Being from Gaspé (the town) myself, I also wish to kitbask one of these units one day. Mine will be the current Amiral SFG 1849 which has been sitting at the VIA rail station right across the marina for over three year. It was, I believe, one of those ex-CPs you mentioned above. BTW, thank you for that great historical recap, I appreciate to learn about history of my area. I will need to find someone willing to make the custom decals, as I cannot make these myself due to the color (too dark for my clear water slide custom decals). For that project, I have found a cheap brass ALCO Models Hi-nose RS-18u shell, with a OMI Ajin frame, trucks and motor (AM's drivetrains are crap) which were the most costly part. I also had access to the loco's roof and have numerous pictures for helping me with that project. I already have a couple projects on my work bench for now, but I intend to do this one in a couple months. The plan is to add a Locksound decoder to it, then also do the steam generator. Again, very nice work! Stephane

Interesting unit Stephane. I would like to see a couple of the roof shots you have, especially around the modified air intakes. Good luck with your project. Cheers Steve NZ

My pleasure, here are pictures from each ends of the roof. Unfortunately, due to the fact it hasn't been in service for months, some plywood planks were laid over all openings. I must have taken about 60 pictures of the loco and steam generator, so if you need additional details, just let me know. Stephane

Great photos Stephane. Roof top photos are the hardest ones to get, but usually the most important, as we spend a lot of time looking at our models from above.
Thanks and Merry Christmas. Steve NZ
