Yeah, I think i'd rather spend the $20 every once in a while. Milling these frames is beginning to be a head ache. First i was building a NJT GP40FH-2, which was a pain but i got it done. Then i had to mill the weights in a U34CH for the nose light and to make room for a speaker, and Now i have a C32-8 that i needed to lower the tops of the fuel tank by three scale inches (don't even ask me how i pulled that off. all i can say is luck....).
oh well, I don't have much milling required yet. something is bound to show up soon though. hopefully DTInut's services will still be available.

I've been trying to get in touch with Dtinut also Cab4. I think either he posted a slightly misspelled email address or went off on a long vacation, which I could use as well

Hi Everyone, I sent in my F7 frame to Brian a week or two ago, and received it back last Thursday. He did a very nice job. All the cuts are clean and to spec. This is really going to improve the look of my model. Hopefully Brian will keep offering this service as I have a few more F units and some other stuff I'd like to do. Here are some photo's. In a day or two I'll post the plans I drew up and some other info to my blog: milepost15.wordpress.com. - Chris

Chris,
Glad you liked the work I did. Just got back from a week long stay in Winter Park/Fraser Colorado with my family. Was pretty cool watching all the trains run thru the mountains. Moffat tunnel is right at Winter Park (ski area for those who don't know). I would guess that there are between 15-20 trains a day running the line.

No, but I saw several UP coal trains, a few mixed freights, and 3 Amtracks go thru. It was neat being right next to the Moffat tunnel, and watching the Amtrack come blasting out of it.

Here is the Athearn GP frame with .025" or so removed from the bolster. I drilled holes where te pins were previously, and put a 2-56 screw in for new pins afterwards. here is model with shell compared to Atlas GP (sorry for the el-crappo pic Here is frame I milled for Chris Slemp: Yes - I still offer milling services.
