Picked up a cheap Bachman coil car from the LHS the other day and a New Holand Excavator that I bought online a few months back. I did some painting, decaling and weathering and came up with this nice MOW car to go along with my Jordan Spreader for cleaning out drainage ditches along the right of way. I also extended the boom a little with some brass square tubing and the entire thing is fully moveable/possitionable. Added some dents and gouges to the car body to show the abuse of the bucket hitting the sides. In one shot you can see that the "channeling" for the excavator wheels/track just happened to work out so it fit right on the rails of the car body!! I picked up another coil car this morning online and already have another excavator, so I think I'm going to make anotherone!
What do you think? Does anyone else have anything similar???
Here is another “Cheap” plastic model that I did some customizing to as well. I never could stand the caboose style bodies they put on crane tenders, and found a prototype pic online of a boxcar style work area that Guilford has…. Its nt exactly like the real one, but a big improvement over the caboose!
