The particular one 384413 I am modeling was almost a permanent fixture on the dump track in Woodstock. I'm pretty sure it's gone now because I don't recall seeing it there. You're probably right, while I'm not trackside much, I do keep my eye out my office window to the CN mainline for oddities and this one...never. I want to build one of the interim 3800 cu.ft. cyl hoppers but I don't know where to start? They are shorter than the IMRCs and longer than these Sylvans. I was thinking maybe the Model Power hoppers are the best starting point? 4.bp.blogspot.com/-JHNVPwpr8OE/UHM7oyehr1I/AAAAAAAADGk/kuPEFkfCXD8/s1600/IMG_0240.JPG

looks to be very similar, might just be the length and the difference on the hopper ends, looks like the 3800's ends are flush with the body sides

Tough call. You'd basically be starting out with the body only (assuming it's correct length), and scratchbuilding everything else on it. Chopping up an Intermountain, you'd have a much better starting point with details you may be able to use or modify. You'd probably have to chop up the bottom to get the discharge bays spaced properly, and chop the body of the car once to shrink it. CP Sig/CPHA has some hopper drawings in their online library if you need measurements. If you don't have a Model Power car handy, I could probably take some measurements of the body of one I have... I was at one point thinking of using one of those Model Power hoppers to do a CP pneumatic discharge hopper (3817xx series, later 416xxx for OCS). Basic dimensions looked ok, but I'd have to scratchbuild a lot of parts on it (end cages/ladders, underbody and end cage gear, rooftop stuff, etc). It's on the someday-crazy-projects-list for now. www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=9920
