Nooooo...... From Plano's website 4/13/15 With the continuous changes in the model train industry and the time needed to maintain our product line, we feel it is time to trim the line. We have started discontinuing product when the product is sold out. At this time there are slim chances of a product coming back once sold out. Some products may survive longer then others. There is not of list of what will go and what will stay. There is not a list of what will go right away and will be here longer . That all depends customer needs and our supply.

I was thinking just two weeks ago that it would really suck if this happened. Thanks for the heads up, and I guess it's time to learn to do etch artwork...

I sent an email suggesting he sell or give the etch artwork for discontinued products so we can still make those ourselves. Just need a not for profit license on them.

Nothing still, and that was 2 weeks ago. Checked the address and that was fine, so I dunno. It would be a shame to just lose all the work he put into those.

I placed an order with Keith about two weeks ago and received it in about 10 days. I did receive one email to confirm it had shipped. I agree it would be tragic to lose all those details. But as we all know life does get in the way at times. Make sure you use the email address for info, that was how Keith answered me.

I used the planodude address listed on the email page. Is this correct?

Either way, no trouble ordering products from him. I just placed one about a week ago and received everything pretty quickly. If you read closely, sounds like he's just retiring the slow movers.

I see he's only retiring the less popular things, but I already have 30+ covered hoppers sitting around waiting for eventual plano parts which are now sold out, and with that number sure to grow. It would be an incredible blessing for me or anyone else in this position if we could have these made for ourselves using the existing etch artwork instead of starting entirely from scratch.

Hi guy's. I note on Plano's website (& i realise this is probably an older post), that he has been experimenting with making brass handrail stanchions for 2nd gen EMD's from 0.008" strip. Looks very impressive. Has anyone else followed through with his post. I'm having much fun (NOT), trying to buy either Smokey valley stanchions or Precision Scale co brass stanchions. I would like to know more about Plano's trials. Sorry i don't know the owners name. Thanks in advance to any reply posts. Pete Bordertown Australia
