Those look really nice. Who makes the SW pilots? Juneco? I'm in need for a couple sets as well.
Keep up the nice work.

These pilots are by Juneco, but I trimmed off the footboards and replaced it by a piece of etched walkway cut to fit, and modified the backside so they can be attached to the end plates, but still allow the shell to be slipped onto a standard Athearn frame.

Cn will be either 1290,92,or 93, I have over 1000 photos and pics of the sw1200rs series, and these are the only 3 units I have ever seen with this type of winterization hood, even though I have photos of the other units in the same series. The CP uit, I havent picked a number yet. With all the info I have found on CN's units, unfortunatley I have little or nothing on the different hatchs that they have used over the years.

CP didn't exactly use winterization hatches on theirs. But, for a time they did use plywood bolted to the front handrails during the winter, to keep snow out of the rads. Those were removed for the spring and re-equipped before winter: www.mountainrailway.com/Roster%20Archive/CP%208100/CP%208145.htmwww.mountainrailway.com/Roster%20Archive/CP%208100/CP%208130.htmOne or two had a sort of makeshift winterization hatch over the front, but that didn't catch on: www.mountainrailway.com/Roster%20Archive/CP%208100/CP%208140.htm

started on the decal work, and am undecided as to which way to go, the yellow stripe, is the trulines cn yellow, but the decals are from microscale, and seem to yellow-ish to me. Based on the avail decals though, I dodnt seem to have a lot of choice, except to use the microscale stripes for the side frames as well

Cp unit with paint almost completed. Both of these units are being done by hand, no airbrushes.
